Strategy says its shareholders have approved daily dividends on its four preferred stocks, STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD, with 99.3% of votes cast in favour on preliminary results. The company, which CryptoWatchDesk last covered on Monday when it paused bitcoin buying and spent $204.9 million on STRC buybacks, announced the vote on X on Wednesday.
The change is about the product, not the payout size. Cointelegraph reports that annual rates stay where they are, at 8% to 12%. What changes is timing: a preferred share that pays every day looks more like a cash account, and that is the market Strategy is chasing with what it calls “digital credit”. It took that pitch to Charles Schwab’s IMPACT conference in Boston this week, where Michael Saylor was billed to give a keynote.
Under the new cadence, “every calendar day will be a record date, with payment on the next business day,” Strategy said. For STRC, the first record date is 1 Nov and the first payment 2 Nov. STRF, STRK and STRD follow, with a first record date on 1 Jan and a first payment on 4 Jan 2027.
STRC carries a variable rate, currently 12%, while the other three pay fixed dividends and STRK can convert into Strategy common stock, Cointelegraph reported. Strategy held 848,517 BTC as of its 26 Oct filing. Its shares rose 2.7% to $145.16 on Wednesday, per Yahoo Finance data, on Wednesday’s US close.
Strategy is not first. Strive has paid daily cash dividends on its SATA preferred since June, and its newer SATS, at a fixed 15%, is due to start daily payments on 9 Nov, subject to declaration, Cointelegraph said. Strategy reports third-quarter results on Thursday, with a call at 5 p.m. ET.
