How the desk works
- Sourcing. Every story rests on a primary source (a regulator, court filing, company announcement, official account, on-chain transaction or dataset) or on two independent outlets that did their own reporting. Other news sites help us spot stories, but never serve as our only source.
- Numbers. Every figure carries a named source and a time. If we cannot verify a figure, it does not run.
- Checks. Every article passes the desk’s fact and source checks before it is published. Some of our content is produced with the help of AI tools; how we use them is set out in our Code of Ethics.
- Corrections. When we get something wrong, we fix it on the article and say so with a dated correction note. Read our Corrections Policy or report an error to [email protected].
Editorial responsibility
Akriti Seth is our audit editor. She reviews published articles, checks their claims and sources, and makes corrections where needed.
Our standards
Our Code of Ethics, Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking Process explain how we work. Nothing we publish is investment advice.
