Securitize plans to integrate with the Stellar network so it can issue and manage tokenized financial assets there, the company said on Wednesday.
Stellar is a so-called layer-1 blockchain, a base network that settles its own transactions. It was built mainly for payments and for issuing assets such as stablecoins and fund shares.
Securitize, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ, tokenizes funds and other securities for asset managers. It had about $5 billion of tokenized securities on its platform at 30 Sept, the release says.
The news was released as the Stellar Development Foundation opened Meridian 2026, its yearly gathering, in Lisbon. The foundation posted the same text on its own site.
The release names no funds, no asset managers and no start date. “Additional details about assets supported through the integration will be announced as they become available,” it says.
“The Stellar network has built the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets,” said Carlos Domingo, Securitize’s co-founder and chief executive. The release does not say which ranking the figure comes from.
Denelle Dixon, chief executive and executive director of the foundation, said the two would work to “support the next generation of tokenized financial products on Stellar.”
Why it matters: Stellar is collecting fund issuers. On Tuesday, CryptoWatchDesk reported that Janus Henderson and Centrifuge put a Nasdaq-100 fund on Stellar.
The chain question for issuers
Securitize describes its approach as multichain, and the release frames Stellar as one more option for institutions choosing where to distribute tokenized products.
That choice is getting wider at the infrastructure level too. On Wednesday, DTCC launched its tokenization service on the Canton Network and DTCC’s private Besu chain, and said more networks will follow in 2027.
Stellar and Circle’s Arc are expected to be among them, Ledger Insights reported. DTCC’s own release does not name the next networks.
For issuers, more networks means more places to reach buyers, but also more places where liquidity can split.
An integration plan is also not the same as a product. Until Securitize names a fund and a date, nothing new is being issued on Stellar under this deal.
XLM was little changed at $0.1694 as of 14:53 UTC, according to CoinGecko. Meridian continues on Thursday, 29 Oct.
