Monday leaves bitcoin funds down $88.0 million in October after 13 sessions, from a $614.7 million deficit after Friday. Ether funds are down $1,058.4 million this month and have had outflows on 12 of 13 sessions; Solana funds are down $57.0 million. Flows record what authorised participants created and redeemed; they are not a forecast.
Bitcoin was near $82,030 on Kraken at 04:03 UTC on Tuesday, and this morning’s First Print has the levels.
BlackRock also filed on Monday to add an iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF, ticker PBIT, to its iShares Trust, an SEC filing shows. The fund “seeks to provide upside exposure to the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) and/or similar bitcoin exposure up to an approximate limit, while seeking to provide a level of downside protection.”
It would not hold bitcoin or IBIT directly. Instead it would hold three overlapping monthly tranches of call spreads, using options on IBIT or similar bitcoin exposure, plus fixed-income investments. The filing leaves the fee and listing exchange blank. For how the underlying spot funds create and redeem shares, see what a spot bitcoin ETF is.
