UPDATED 10:50 UTC, 3 Nov: At 07:08 UTC, Binance said on X that withdrawals had been re-enabled for a further list of tokens on Ethereum, including LINK, ONDO, ENA, PENDLE, SHIB and WBETH, and for 22 tokens on Solana, including JUP, BONK, WIF, RENDER and PYTH. It said more assets and networks will follow in phases as security checks finish. In an earlier post at 05:51 UTC, the exchange said hourly deposits had exceeded withdrawals by 03:00 UTC; it did not publish the underlying figures.
At a glance
- Binance began reopening withdrawals for a second batch of assets from 04:00 UTC on Tuesday, covering nine networks including BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum and Solana, the exchange said.
- Five stablecoins on Ethereum, RLUSD, USD1, TUSD, FDUSD and XUSD, were the first to come back, with more assets to follow in phases after security checks.
Binance has started reopening withdrawals for more assets, five days after a theft froze them, the exchange said in its sixth recovery update, published on X at 02:30 UTC on Tuesday.
The rollout began at 04:00 UTC and is progressive, Binance said. Each network and asset pair goes live only after its security and readiness checks are complete, so not every asset on the list opens at the same time.
The exchange said it is putting tokens first according to how much users asked for them over the past week. Deposits are open and unaffected, it added.
At 04:08 UTC, Binance said on X that withdrawals had been restored for RLUSD, USD1, TUSD, FDUSD and XUSD on Ethereum. “We will continue to restore additional assets and networks in phases following the completion of our security checks,” it wrote.
What changes for users
The list in the notice covers BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Solana, the XRP Ledger, Sui, Arbitrum, Optimism, Tron and Base, according to Cointelegraph and PANews, which read the asset table published as an image.
Binance told users to check the withdrawal page or its network status page before sending, and said a withdrawal may take longer than usual while traffic is high. If one fails, users should try again after a short wait, it said.
The update repeats the exchange’s line on losses. “Binance will bear the financial impact of the stolen funds. These losses will not be passed on to users,” it said.
Binance also warned that anyone offering to speed up a withdrawal for a fee is a scammer, Cointelegraph reported.
How we got here
Binance halted withdrawals on 29 Oct after the $6.3 billion theft and restarted them on 1 Nov in a first phase on 15 networks, as CryptoWatchDesk reported. Fiat withdrawals in five currencies reopened on Monday.
On Monday the exchange also said it had completed its zero-knowledge reserves proof for ten tokens and planned a wider reserves snapshot for 4 Nov.
Binance has not given a date for assets outside the two lists. It said further updates will come through its official channels.
