US spot bitcoin ETFs lost a net $238.6 million on Thursday, 8 Oct, according to Farside data, a second straight outflow session after Wednesday’s $484.9 million redemption wave. Fidelity’s FBTC accounted for $197.1 million of Thursday’s total. BlackRock’s IBIT row is blank on Farside for the day, so this desk does not treat that cell as a verified zero. Ether funds lost only $1.4 million, nearly flat after seven consecutive outflow days.

Source: Farside Investors, US-listed spot funds; week to date covers 5–8 Oct. Bitcoin WTD is the sum of daily group totals (−89.8 +118.8 −484.9 −238.6). Ether WTD uses daily group totals (−50.8 −201.9 −160.9 −1.4). Blank cells are shown as reported, not filled with zeros.

The headline number is about half Wednesday’s print, but the direction did not flip. FBTC’s $197.1 million outflow dominated a day when only Franklin’s EZBC among the named bitcoin funds showed a positive print. Breadth narrowed versus Wednesday’s six-fund wipeout; the concentration in one issuer is the analytical point, not a forecast for Friday’s tape. Ether’s near-flat session breaks a seven-day streak without implying that creations have returned in size — ETHA and ETHB were blank on Farside for 8 Oct as well.
